With the NFL Scouting Combine starting Tuesday, we decided to take a look at the NFL Draft. Yes, it's about that time.
The Dallas Cowboys won't have the No. 1 overall pick. Why do we do that? Do they need a quarterback? They have Dak Prescott. Do you need the No. 1 receiver? There is CeeDee rum. Do they need a pass rusher? Have you heard of Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence?
So with the 24th overall pick, the Cowboys — you've heard this before — have options.
Here are the 10 players the Cowboys could draft in the first round (so far).
Troy Fautanu
G, Washington, 6-4, 319 pounds
He was named All-Pac-12 the past two seasons and started 20 games at left tackle in three seasons with Washington. Fautanu had the ability to move inside and guard and played on the left side.
jackson powers johnson
C, Oregon State, 6-3, 320 pounds
According to Pro Football Focus, the Rimington Trophy winner as the college's best center allowed just one pressure out of 471 pass-blocking snaps. Powers-Johnson played in 44 games as a center in college.
jazan newton
DT, Illinois, 6-2, 295 pounds
Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. He finished last season with 52 tackles, 8 1/2 tackles for loss and 7 1/2 sacks. Over the past two seasons, he has recorded 103 quarterback pressures, which ranks first among defensive tackles in the nation.
toe bondle sweatshirt
DT, Texas State, 6-4, 362 pounds
The Huntsville, Texas, native recorded 45 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 18 solo tackles in 2023. For his efforts, he was named the Outland Trophy winner and the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. He played five seasons at Texas.
jordan morgan
G, Arizona, 6-4, 312 pounds
Last season, he allowed two sacks on 787 snaps in 12 games. He was invited to the Senior Bowl and played left tackle in 2021. He was named first team All-Pac-12 by the Associated Press the past two seasons.
junior colson
LB, Michigan State, 6-3, 247 pounds
He recorded 101 tackles in 2022 and led the team with 95 tackles last season. He started 36 games as a linebacker and appeared in 43 games overall. He recorded a team-leading 11 tackles, including seven solo tackles, in the rivalry game against Ohio State.
Zack Frazier
C, West Virginia, 6-2, 314 pounds
His season ended in November due to a broken fibula, but he did light duty at the Senior Bowl. It's unclear how much he'll be able to train at the combine. He started 12 games last season and was named to the All-Big 12 second team by the Associated Press.
tyler guyton
T, Oklahoma State, 6-7, 328 pounds
He only started nine games at right tackle after transferring to TCU and has also played at left tackle. The Manor, Texas, native has great size that has attracted NFL teams, with some projecting him as a late first-round pick.
Nate Wiggins
CB, Clemson, 6-2, 185 pounds
In three seasons, he took 1,377 snaps. He has 19 pass breakups, three interceptions and two pick-sixes in 34 games (18 starts). Wiggins is notable for running in the 40 second range on fast corners.
graham burton
C, Duke, 6-5, 311 pounds
He has primarily played at tackle (34 starts), but had five starts at center in 2020. NFL teams will likely move him inside, so testing during the draft process will determine where he can go.
