Crime scene tape still remains at the intersection where a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed.
It all started Thursday around 7 p.m. when Dallas police said there was a minor accident at North Masters Drive and Carolina Oaks Drive.
“I looked down here and saw this section was cordoned off and full of police,” witness Glenda Price said.
Police said people not involved in the accident started a fight. That's when someone pulled out a gun and fired, hitting three people, including the 16-year-old who died.
“Here I saw a light where they shut everything off,” Price said. So it seemed like it was just awful. sad. “
A woman who did not want to be identified translated what her Spanish-speaking neighbor told her.
“She heard a crash, someone crashing in the street. Then she heard several people arguing,” she said.
Then gunshots were fired.
“She said she heard four tones, then it stopped and then she heard four more tones,” she said.
As for the other two victims, one was taken to the hospital in stable condition and one was shot in the leg.
Locals are mourning the loss of a teenager's life in a minor accident.
“You have to love your children. You have to love your family. Life is too short. You never know,” Price said.
Police have not identified the slain teen or other victims at this time.
