2024 NFL Mock Draft: Dallas Cowboys 3rd Round Mock Draft
The offseason is in full swing, but it's been a very quiet season for the Dallas Cowboys. With the departure of key players on both sides of the ball in the 2024 NFL Draft, Jerry Jones and his war room have their work cut out for them. Will they prioritize using an offensive lineman to protect Dak Prescott in the first round, or will they go for another dynamic weapon to pair with CeeDee Lamb?
The defense will likely get Love early to shore up the pass rush and secondary. Buckle up, Cowboys fans. We'll now dive into a three-round mock draft and explore potential solutions that could shape America's team's future.
Round 1, Pick 24: Tyler Guyton – T, Oklahoma
Tyler Guyton of the University of Oklahoma was a late first-rounder thanks to his superior athleticism and impressive size. A former tight end, Guyton boasts excellent footwork and explosiveness in pass protection. At 6'7 and 328 pounds, he has the ideal body shape for an NFL tackle, and his ability to reach defenders and anchor in the run game is promising as well. Although his technique is still developing, Guyton's raw talent and upside make him a great addition to an offensive line that recently lost Tyron Smith.
Round 2, Pick 56: Jalen McMillan – WR, Washington
Jalen McMillan is an agile route runner with tremendous speed and a versatile weapon who can line up anywhere on the field. He uses precise footwork and deft route running to create distance, and his long strides and explosiveness make him a big threat. McMillan boasts reliable hands and a knack for turning short passes into big gains after the catch, making him a potential difference-maker for teams looking for a versatile wide receiver.
Leave it to Jerry Jones to surprise people during the NFL Draft. That being said, Dallas needs a legitimate second threat on the outside to take some pressure off CeeDee Lamb. It also gives Dak another solid pass-catching option.

Round 3, Pick 87: Trey Benson – RB, Florida State
If they fall this far, Florida State's Trey Benson would be a great option for the Cowboys. He's a complete running back at 6'1'' and 223 pounds with good size and power, as well as incredible speed and agility. Benson displays a downhill running style that punishes defenders, but he also boasts vision and footwork to move through a messy box. He is also a weapon in the passing game, with reliable hands and the ability to create separation out of the backfield. Dallas needs to find an RB1 for 2024, and a fresh pair of legs like Benson will add to the offense.
