Dallas-Fort Worth didn't have much of a winter this past winter, so spring has started early in the area. However, mid-April is usually when the spring festival season begins in earnest. So, we are here again to inform you about all the best options.
As always, the festival covers a wide range of categories including music, food, wine, art, film and more. Here are 23 of the best festivals happening during the rest of spring.
Dallas Arts Festival (April 13th and 14th)
The Dallas Arts Festival is a two-day outdoor arts festival featuring approximately 100 painters, photographers, sculptors, metalworkers, glass artists, jewelers and more. The festival will also feature artist demonstrations, music, food trucks, and beverages including healthy alternatives. It will be held at Kidd Springs Park in Dallas.
Syndicate Smokedown & Music Festival (April 13)
Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate's 3rd Annual Smokedown & Music Festival features headliners Shane Smith & the Saints, Max Sterling, Two Tons of Steel, Gary P. Nunn, Muscadine Bloodline, and Mike & the Moonpies , Bones Owens. The one-day event will be held at the Fort Worth Stockyards Station.
54th American Film Festival (April 17-26)
The 2024 USA Film Festival will feature 24 separate programs, including tributes to iconic actors and filmmakers such as Martin Sheen and Billy Dee Williams. footloose Screenwriter/songwriter Dean Pitchford will also be in attendance. Actor John Magaro will also be in attendance (past life) for his new movie, laroy, texas. The main festival will be held from his April 17th to his April 21st, and the Billy Dee Williams salute will take place on his April 26th. All screenings will take place at the Angelica Film Center in Dallas.
Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival (April 18-21)
The annual Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival features 215 juried visual artists, live music on two stages, authentic local cuisine, a family-friendly TCC Maker's Zone, and craft beer and wine. Tastings and more will be presented over 18 square blocks. Throughout downtown Fort Worth. Musical performers include Shinyribs, Danni & Kris, Angel White, Sheran Goodspeed Keyton, and more.
Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival (April 19-21)
Since it's early spring this year, and the bluebonnets only started blooming in late March, this annual festival may be held a little later this year. But there will be plenty of activities throughout the weekend, including arts and crafts, shopping, and live music, plus hopefully some Texas bluebonnets still in bloom along the 60 miles of trails. The festival is held in downtown Ennis.
Fort Worth Botanical Garden holds Japanese Spring Festival (April 20th and 21st)
Fort Worth Botanical Garden's annual Japanese Spring Festival celebrates the seasons and beauty of Japanese gardens. Performers include a taiko group, traditional dancers, the Fort Worth Judo Club, the Dallas Sumo Club, and more. Other activities include Japanese music, theater, and tea ceremony. There will also be a variety of food trucks and vendors.
dallas international film festival(April 25th – May 2nd)
The 18th Dallas International Film Festival will screen more than 100 films, featuring films from both established and up-and-coming artists in a wide range of styles.Festival highlights include opening night film Dude Perfect: Very Long Shot, about local trick shot masters.closing night movie Sing Sing The film stars Oscar nominee Colman Domingo. the dead don't get hurt, a Western by writer/director Viggo Mortensen. more. Southlake Women's Club presents Art in the Square (April 26-28)
The 24th Annual Art in the Square is a weekend filled with art, music, food, spirits and activities for kids. The event will feature the work of his 150 distinguished juried artists, as well as a youth art tent displaying the work of Northeast Tarrant County high school students. There will also be musical performances by DJs Mike Barbee and Free Fallin, as well as the Tom Petty Concert Experience. The event will be held at Southlake Town Square.
Main Street Fest hosted by the City of Grand Prairie (April 26-28)
Main Street Fest includes live music from Mark Chesnutt, Michael Salgado, and Parliament-Funkadelic feat. George Clinton, carnival rides, arts and crafts, food and beverage gardens, and a variety of entertainment at KidZone. The event will be held on Main Street in Grand Prairie.
Festival of Joy (April 27th)
At Festival of Joy, visitors can welcome spring with a colorful celebration of spirituality and Indian culture. Held at Klyde Warren Park in Dallas, it's a day of bright colors, beautiful flowers, and a free vegetarian feast, along with music, dance, and interactive comprehensive life and culture exhibits.
Frisco Uncorked (April 27)
The 5th Annual Frisco Uncorked will feature hundreds of award-winning wines, local restaurants, VIP experiences, a craft beer garden, eclectic boutique and artisan shopping, grape stomping contests, activities, and more. The event will be held at Frisco Plaza.
Fort Worth Aviation Museum hosts Hops and Props Beerfest (April 27)
Hops and Props is an annual craft beer tasting festival featuring local breweries, live music, food, family-friendly vendors, airplane rides, games, activities, and more. The event will also feature many veteran support organizations and family vendors. The event, held at the Fort Worth Air Museum, is a major annual fundraiser, with proceeds going to education and preservation programs.
Trinity collaboration presents Mayfest (May 2nd to 5th)
Mayfest features live music on three stages, festival food, carnival rides, performing arts on four stages, pet adoptions, more than 60 art and gift market vendors, children's activities, and special attractions. It's an annual four-day family festival featuring… The event will be held at Trinity Park.
Dallas International Guitar Festival (May 3rd-5th)
The Dallas International Guitar Festival is the world's largest and oldest guitar show, bringing together musicians, fans, collectors, and celebrities in one giant music festival. Visitors can buy, sell, trade and browse musical instruments and accessories, as well as listen to performances by more than 50 local, regional and national bands. The event will be held at the Dallas Market Hall.
Cottonwood Art Festival (May 4th and 5th)
The Cottonwood Art Festival is a biannual event featuring the work of the nation's top visual artists. This prestigious art show has been a part of Richardson's life for over 50 years. A jury selects his more than 240 artists to exhibit museum-quality work, and artists compete in his 14 categories. The festival also features performances by a variety of local bands. The event will be held at Cottonwood Park in Richardson.
Taco & Tequila Festival (May 5th)
Taco & Tequila Festival features Dallas-Fort Worth's best taco chefs and restaurants, handmade margaritas, Lucha Libre wrestling, and more. Additionally, there will be a live music showcase with performances from 2 Chainz, Juvenile, DJ Skribble and Travis Porter. The event will be held at Riders Field in Frisco.
Other art fairs (May 9th to 12th)
Other Art Fair is a global art event dedicated to showcasing independent artists. Affordable original artwork and his 130 independent artists are combined with immersive installations, performances, DJs, and a fully stocked bar. The event will be held at the Dallas Market Hall.
Wildflower! Arts and Music Festival (May 17th-19th)
Annual wildflowers! The arts and music festival includes live performances by national, regional, and local bands, a singer-songwriter contest, and the family-friendly His WF. Kids, WF! Main Street Fest: Craft Beer Experience (May 17-19)
The 40th Annual Main Street Fest: Craft Beer Experience is a family-friendly festival showcasing a unique blend of craft beer, live entertainment, and community spirit. This year's event will feature a variety of golf-themed activities, as well as Carnival Midway, KidZone, food and shopping vendors, and more. The event will be held at Historic Downtown Grapevine.
Taco & Tequila Festival (May 18th)
Fort Worth's version of the Taco & Tequila Festival will also feature tacos, margaritas and Lucha Libre wrestling, but its musical showcase will be even bigger. Visitors can see performances by Ludacris, Ashanti, Xzibit, Chamillionaire, David Banner, Trick Daddy, Yung Joc, Bubba Sparks, DJ Ashton Martin and more. It will be held at the Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth.
Ubi Dabi Festival (May 25th-26th)
The annual Ubi Dabi Festival is a two-day festival featuring performances from more than 40 electronic music artists including Alison Wonderland, Davin, Le Youth, RL Grime, Troyboi, Align, Crankdat, Karina Zanders, Sabai, Tobionest and more. Taste Addison (May 31st – June 2nd)
A festival of food, music, and fun, Taste Addison features musical headliners Sugar Ray, The Todies, Hunter Hayes, food from a variety of Addison eateries, wine and spirit tastings, special performances, and family There will be activities and more for everyone. The event will be held at Addison Circle Park.
so what? ! Music Festival (June 1st and 2nd)
It's 2024, so what?! The music festival features 60 bands performing over two days, headlined by hard rock bands Underoath and Skillet. Other notable bands include Boys Like Girls, Ask Alexandria, Mayday Parade, POD, Silverstein, Switchfoot, The Devil Wears Prada, Reliant K, and Amity Affliction. The event will be held at the Panther Island Pavilion.
