Three bars in Dallas were recently recognized as among the best in the country.
This week, Midnight Rambler, Saint Valentine and Catbird were named regional award winners for the 2024 Spirited Awards, which annually recognizes top talent in the domestic and international spirits and cocktails industry.
Midnight Rambler, a hangout in the basement of the Joule Hotel in downtown Dallas, and Catbird, part of the Thompson Dallas Hotel, also in downtown Dallas, were named in the top 10 Best US Hotel Bars (US Central). I am.
St. Valentine, which opened in Old East Dallas last year, was named one of the top 10 Best New Cocktail Bars in the Central United States.
The man behind two of these bars has something in common: his name is Gabe Sanchez. The Dallas restaurateur and bartender is his creative consultant for Midnight Rambler, and co-owner and fellow bartender opened his Saint Valentine with Ryan Payne.
“So excited to be named a top 10 regional nominee for America's Best Hotel Bar and America's Best New Cocktail Bar!!!” Sanchez said on Instagram. “I am so proud of the work, creativity and dedication that both teams put in every day!!!!!!”
A handful of bars in Austin also made the Central region list. DrinkWell and Nickel City are named to our list of America's Best Bar Teams. DrinkWell and Here Nor There win Best Cocktail Bar in America. Otoko x Water Trade wins America's Best Hotel Bar Award. Daydreamer, Equipment Room and Murray's Tavern win Best New Cocktail Bar in America.
Houston spot Julep was also named the winner of Best US Cocktail Bar (US Central).
The Spirited Awards are a joint initiative of Tales of the Cocktail Foundation and Forbes. The top 10 national nominees for each award category this year will be announced on May 29th, and the top four finalists will be announced on June 17th. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in New Orleans on July 25, 2024.
