Since leaving Texas Tech University to turn professional, Ludwig Aberg has quickly gained attention on the PGA Tour. Here are five things you should know about one of golf's newest names.
First major appearance
The Masters was Aberg's first major appearance in his career. After shooting over par (+1) on Thursday, the 24-year-old had a solid three rounds and finished second to Scottie Scheffler at 7 under.

After two dominant seasons at Texas Tech, Aberg is No. 1 in the 2023 PGA Tour College Rankings. This honor earns the Swedish Eslov native PGA Tour membership for the remainder of the 2023 season and the 2024 season. He was also ranked No. 1 amateur in the world.
Texas Tech University Honors
Aberg won nearly every major award in college golf.
As a senior, he swept the Jack Nicklaus Award, Fred Haskins Award, and Ben Hogan Award. He joins Jon Rahm as the only players to win the Ben Hogan Award repeatedly.
He won a program-record eight times during his time at Texas Tech, becoming the first golfer to win back-to-back Big 12 Conference Championship titles in both 2022 and 2023.

Aberg has quickly risen to prominence in the golf world, earning a spot on Europe's Ryder Cup team just three months after turning pro last year.
First PGA Tour win
A few months later, Aberg won the November 2023 RSM Classic, adding to his incredible rookie season. This was his first PGA Tour title, along with a win on the European Tour and a debut win at the Ryder Cup.
