The most important games remaining on the Dallas Mavericks' schedule are next week's series against the Sacramento Kings. Dallas will play on the road next Tuesday and Friday, and those games will determine who will make the playoff tiebreaker. The Mavs have lost their first two games against the Kings and it will be important to find a way to win these games.
The Kings are 40-29 on the year, slightly better than the Mavs, and hope they don't face Dallas in the playoffs. The Kings don't have a true rim protector on their roster, meaning the Mavs should be able to have some fun in the paint against them. No player on the roster averages more than 0.7 blocks per game, and the Mavs have been at their best these days when they have early success in big matches.
The Kings also probably just lost Kevin Huerter this year and will have PJ Washington, Derek Lively II, Maxi Kleber, and Daniel Gafford collectively guarding Domantas Sabonis, giving them is more than capable of doing that.
Washington did a great job protecting Victor Wembaneyama earlier this week, and if they can contain Sabonis they will have a great chance to beat the Kings in at least one of next week's matchups.
After last night's loss to the Washington Wizards, the Mavs technically have a better record than the Kings, but Sacramento has been outperforming Dallas for a long time.
