what's happening at galleria
Last summer, whispers abounded about the future of the Dallas North Mall after American Girl Doll Store announced it would be moving from the Galleria Dallas to the Shops at Park Lane. But the shopping center was preparing for a slew of openings and renovations to replace the stores.
The mall launched Banana Republic's new home furnishings line, BR Home, and an outpost of Spanish retail giant Mango. It also plans to open its first H&M Home in a 7,500-square-foot store on two floors in North Texas.
In mid-November, French luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton reopened its Galleria Dallas store. The redesigned store is twice the size of his and showcases the brand's various product lines. The store also offers hot stamping services for leather goods and artisans who work with customers to create custom artwork.
Also last month, long-established local jewelry store Bachendorf's reopened its Galleria Dallas store after extensive renovations. The newly expanded 7,000 square foot space includes a bridal atelier and showcases brands such as David Yuman, Robert Coin, Cartier and Breitling. The store also features a 1,500 square foot Rolex boutique.
Veronica returns home again
Veronica Beard, a New York-based ready-to-wear fashion brand, has been dressing Dallasite since opening its third-ever store in Highland Park Village six years ago. It temporarily closed last September and moved to a block next to Yo! Lobster—for renovation. Earlier this month, the brand officially opened at 44 Highland Park Village. Luxurious and eclectic new products include parquet French oak flooring, Moroccan-inspired ottomans, and custom-made Nitika Moranju rugs. “We paid close attention to creating an inviting atmosphere in our Dallas store,” interior designer Carolina de Neufville said in a release. “We wanted our customers to imagine they could live in this space,” she says. 44 Highland Park Village.
It's time to “get off the floor”
Madison founders Kirsten Fitzgibbons and Kelly Ford had a busy November. Interior designers decorated the living room of this year's Kips Bay showhouse. We also launched Off the Floor, a new home furniture showroom in the Design District. The 7,500-square-foot concept store sells everything from rugs and antiques to decorative items and case goods. The warehouse-like store is fully stocked. This means designers don't have to place an order and wait months for the product to reach the customer. 114 Express Street
