HomeSmart Premier owner and real estate agent Dayv Morgan does more than just house people in Maricopa. He also puts food on the table.
Yesterday, Mr. Morgan presented a large check for more than $1,000 to the Maricopa Pantry, a Hidden Valley-based food bank that provides meals to more than 1,600 families.
Mr. Morgan matched the $540 donation with an additional $540 from his own pocket, bringing the total donation to $1,080.
“We will use these funds to help feed the hungry and support our daily work at the food bank, providing support to our community,” said Jim Shoaf, founder and CEO of the food bank. We will provide the best possible service.” “We are so happy to have someone like Dave in this community.”
The dollar-for-dollar match is a tradition that has been around for several years. This year's donation was timely. Maricopa Pantry is preparing to break ground on its permanent building at 50881 W. Papago Rd. In the near future, Shoaf said.
His vision for the two-story food warehouse is to expand services such as free legal advice, housing assistance and substance abuse services, as well as a community room for meals and events.
Maricopa Pantry is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
“I'm so happy to be able to support people like Jim and his work,” Morgan said. “I love Maricopa and I love being able to support the needs of the community.”
