Are you concerned that Kellen Moore is now Philadelphia's offensive coordinator and Vic Fangio is the Eagles' defensive coordinator? These two certainly add another layer to this rivalry. – Ryan Burkhardt/Galveston, Texas
Nick Harris: Philadelphia has made two hires for the most interesting coordinator position possible. Fangio has clearly had recent success, and Moore has grown as a coordinator in Dallas. But I don't think that's a big concern any different than any other team. Dallas' offense had success against Fangio's defense in Miami last season, but was limited by self-inflicted mistakes. As for Moore, it could be an advantage in either direction since they know each other rather well. Against a healthy Los Angeles offense early in the season, Dallas had a lot of success with a limited offensive system. Both coordinators have different people and different challenges in front of them. However, I think it's fun to follow the story.
patrick: I wouldn't use the word concerned here, but rather intrigued. I've said many times that I believe Moore is a much better coordinator than people give him credit for, but for him to be successful he also needs to have the necessary ingredients in place, and for that to happen. That includes the head coach, who has complete control over everything he does. Looking at the failures of the Los Angeles Chargers last season, it's hard to see how different things are in Los Angeles and Philadelphia. For example, the head coach is in the spotlight most of the season due to questionable decisions from the previous season. . Looking at it from there, how Moore likes to build an offense that's a pass-heavy, run-heavy scheme that makes you wonder where Jalen Hurts' mobility plays into it. Or DeAndre Swift? And when it comes to the passing game, Moore (of Dallas) isn't going to consistently plan to get his star WR open, just line him up in X, Y, or the slot and press send on the called play. That never happened. It all feels too similar to the situation he found himself in last year in LA, but only time will tell. What's certainly true is (to be fair) how much the Cowboys know Moore front and back, but it's McCarthy and the Cowboys who win Round 1 with Moore in 2023. Ta. Very intriguing, but don't worry.
