We share our thoughts on what the Bengals should do with Tee Higgins this offseason.
With the stage set for the Super Bowl and the Cincinnati Bengals rooting for both teams to lose somehow, the front office is busy planning a 2024 campaign to win the Lombardi Trophy.
They have a lot to think about, including Joe Mixon's pending roster bonus and what to do at defensive tackle, but No. 1 on the list is probably Tee Higgins.
The wide receiver is a free agent this year, and he and the team were unable to reach a long-term agreement before the start of the 2023 season. It's been a year of ups and downs for Higgins. He was plagued by Joe Burrow's slump early in the season.
And when Burrow was healthy, Higgins was often not. In the end, he finished his contract season with a career-low 656 yards and just five touchdowns. But that won't help the Bengals keep him. Perhaps the only way he will remain in Cincinnati is by signing a one-year franchise contract.
That's what is expected of the Bengals. This week on Three and Out, Kevin and I discuss whether or not that's what they should be doing. You can watch it below. For more Bengals content, don't forget to check out the rest of Orange and Black Insider here.
