Honeywell Aerospace Facility in Olathe
Olathe, Kan. — Honeywell will invest $84 million in an expansion of its aerospace manufacturing facility in Olathe, which will bring more than 150 new jobs to the region.
The Olathe facility currently manufactures Honeywell avionics, safety and flight control systems, complex radio frequency systems for traffic collision avoidance, radar altimeters and weather radars.
This expansion will make it one of Honeywell's most technologically advanced aerospace manufacturing facilities.
“This facility expansion will provide a powerful and reliable base for next-generation avionics and printed circuit board assemblies for commercial and military customers,” Jim Currier, president and CEO of Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, said in a statement. It will enable the development of resilient domestic supply chains.”
The governor's office said Honeywell's expansion will create more than 200 jobs in other fields, and construction will create more than 260 temporary jobs in the state.
“Honeywell's expanded presence in Kansas confirms what we've known for a long time: Our state's employees are ready to meet any challenge,” Kansas Governor Laura Kelly said Friday. has been completed,” he said.
“The creation of high-tech jobs and opportunities will allow even more young workers to find their dream careers right here in Kansas.”
Kelly said the project is expected to generate $47 million in gross domestic product in the first six years and bring in more than $18 million in taxes.
