February 2 (UPI) — Joe Rogan and Spotify have signed a new deal for his podcast, said to be worth $250 million, that will make “The Joe Rogan Experience'' available on other platforms.
The Wall Street Journal first reported that the deal is described as a multi-year deal that includes a guaranteed minimum and a share of advertising revenue.

Spotify has held exclusive streaming rights to the Logan Podcast for three years, but the new deal will allow it to be distributed on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and YouTube.
Spotify said, “For more than three years, The Joe Rogan Experience has consistently been the No. 1 podcast around the world.
Spotify said in a statement: “Since podcasts became exclusive to Spotify, overall consumption of podcasts on the platform has increased by 232%. As a result of this exponential growth we've seen, this is more than ever before. of advertisers.'' This led to a 45% increase in the show's 2023 revenue and an 80% increase in revenue from 2021 to 2023. ”
The comedian and actor started his podcast in 2009.
In 2022, Spotify took steps to remove 70 episodes in which Logan said the N-word. Mr. Logan called it a political blowjob.
The action comes as musicians Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Crazy Horse, Nils Lofgren and others stream music from their platforms to protest the alleged spread of COVID-19 misinformation on their shows. It was done quietly.
