sexual harassment. Discriminatory acts. Crossing the line can cause irreparable damage to your business. These are the nightmares that keep HR executives up at night and leave companies worried that one employee's misconduct will negatively impact the entire team and the company's future.
Work Shield, a Dallas-based incident management technology company, can help solve this problem. And to support its mission, it has received a $6 million investment from Tampa, Florida-based VC and growth equity firm Ballast Point Ventures.
Founded in 2018, Work Shield provides comprehensive, integrated solutions for reporting, investigating and resolving workplace misconduct for employers in North America and beyond. The company said it would use the funds to invest in all areas of its business.
“As a former employment and human resources attorney, I understand firsthand the difficulty of tracking, investigating, and resolving workplace harassment and discrimination cases,” said Jared, CEO and co-founder of Work Shield. Pope said in a statement. “Given our founding team’s knowledge of the legal process for resolving Title VII issues, we are building a more streamlined and efficient process for resolving these cases on behalf of our clients and their employees. I always believed I could do it.”
“We are excited to welcome a sophisticated institutional investor to our firm and are enthusiastic about working with Ballast Point Ventures,” Pope added. “We look forward to this next phase as we continue to deliver the only full-service workplace fraud and analytics solution that manages incidents end-to-end from acceptance to resolution.”
“Increasing attention to workplace culture”
Work Shield's easy-to-use employer intelligence platform enables reporting across multiple channels, empowering employees to confidently and securely report issues, while also managing employee relations and legal investigations. A dedicated team of staff members will ensure a thorough and impartial investigation.
The company says its results significantly exceed national averages, enable a faster resolution process, and provide employers with proactive real-time investigation updates, compliant incident management, and a more insightful workplace. He said he can always be informed by analysis.
“BPV has gotten to know Jared and the team over the past two years and has been impressed by the growth and success they have achieved with a lean team and minimal outside investment,” said Robert, Partner at Ballast Point Ventures. Faber said. He said in a statement that he will join Work Shield's board of directors. “Work Shield is a great fit for us given our focus on partnering with growing private companies with strong management teams throughout the Southeast and Texas.”
“We are excited to partner with Jennifer and Jared Pope, Travis Foster, and the entire Work Shield team to drive continued growth and solidify Work Shield’s strong position in the market. I'm excited about it,” Faber added. “Given the increased focus on workplace culture, Work Shield’s differentiated solutions can help repair broken listening systems through efficient and comprehensive incident resolution.”
Provide employees with access to report incidents while ensuring employer peace of mind
WorkShield says it is the first and only solution that partners with employers to efficiently manage the reporting, investigation and resolution of workplace harassment and discrimination issues across the board.
The company provides employees with access to an instant, impartial, and secure platform to safely voice incidents of workplace harassment and discrimination, while employers ensure that every issue is carefully investigated by WorkShield certified investigators. He said that he can be assured of peace of mind that the matter will be resolved.
Ballast Point Ventures is a late-stage venture capital and growth equity fund founded in 2002 to provide expansion capital to fast-growing private companies, particularly those located in Florida, the Southeast, and Texas.
