Sushi Bar, an Austin-based upscale restaurant specializing in Japanese “omakase” cuisine, plans to open its newest location in Dallas in December.
The new location will be the company's second in Texas and fourth overall. Sushi restaurant group Adept Hospitality will also open its latest cocktail lounge concept, Ginger's, attached to the sushi bar at the same time.
Featuring a bootlegger design, Sushi Bar Dallas features two sushi omakase rooms in the basement, each accommodating up to 12 guests. The concept will be located in the East Quarter development in downtown Dallas, where guests will enter the platform of his 100-year-old car lift and descend to the basement level.
The concept offers guests a 17-course omakase experience. According to the company, the courses will feature fish purchased and flown in weekly from Japan, Australia, California, and other locations.
What is Omakase? Roughly translated, it means “according to the chef's choice.” Guests are offered a small selection of light bites, similar to tasting menus at other types of fine dining restaurants. It's often a small, intimate dining experience and can cost hundreds of dollars.
“Dallas is the heart of Texas, and the food scene here continues to impress and delight locals and travelers alike. A market where consumers truly love eating out is exactly what we want. By the way,” said Ryan Stock, CEO of Adept Hospitality. statement. “Dallas has been a hub for bringing our concept to market since day one, and we are thrilled to have finally found the perfect location to do so.”
Sushi Bar and Ginger's are scheduled to open on December 1st. Sushi Bar opens reservations for the following month on the 1st of each month.
