The 25th Anniversary of the Greater Dallas Veterans Day Parade, scheduled for Thursday, November 9, 2023, has been canceled due to weather.
Veterans Day is an official U.S. federal holiday celebrated on November 11 of each year that honors America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
The annual holiday was to be celebrated in Dallas with a wreath-laying ceremony and a parade through downtown Dallas. This year's theme was “Proud to be an American,” and the annual event was scheduled to include a military flyover of a missing persons formation, a marching band and more.
This is the second year in a row that the Dallas event has been canceled due to weather. Organizers plan to restart the parade next year, in 2024.
The Tarrant County Veterans Day Parade is scheduled to be held in Fort Worth on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.
