Potential Rookie of the Year will play in Dallas' only game this season
The Dallas Mavericks (31-23) host the San Antonio Spurs (11-43) on Wednesday night in their final game before the All-Star break. The game is being played locally at Bally Sports Southwest and should tip just after 7:30 p.m. Dallas is currently on its longest winning streak of the year at five games and hopes to avoid a trap game with its longtime cross-state rival. San Antonio has lost four of its last five games, but Monday's winning game was won by rookie superstar Victor Wembaneyama, who had a triple-double with 10 blocks. Let's look at the important things.
- Who: Dallas Mavericks vs San Antonio Spurs
- what: Maintain winning streak heading into All-Star break
- where: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
- when: 7:30 PM CST
- how: Bally Sports Southwest
Dallas' injury report is getting a little better with each game. Dante Exum is out with knee bursitis and Maxi Kleber is out with a broken nose and dislocated toe. However, Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and Derrick Lively II are all available. The Spurs have four different players in the G League, but there were no injuries to players that are very important to the lineup.
This will be the last game for the Dallas Mavericks before they take a few days off from NBA basketball. This is a great trap game against a team that has lost twice, but who is playing well (San Antonio has scored 119 points in each of the last two matchups; Lively's second loss this season). It should be fun to see how he guards Wenby in a match).
