Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic perfected an incredible trick shot known as a “bounce” right before taking a long-distance jumper.
Doncic was caught on camera saying “bounce” to teammate Derek Lively II, who was holding a microphone on NBA TV. The Slovenian star then sent the ball far past the left hash and into the net from near the sideline.
His high-arching shot then bounced inside the paint and into the basket. It was exactly what the five-time All-Star expected.
Doncic has converted more than just trick shots this season. Throughout his 47 games, he averaged nearly a triple-double per game, averaging 34.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 9.5 assists.
His heroics throughout the season gave the Mavericks a 32-23 record heading into the All-Star break. Dallas currently sits in 7th place in the Western Conference.
The Mavericks were on a tear before the All-Star break, but had won their last six games. That streak included wins over the San Antonio Spurs, Washington Wizards, Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.
In Dallas' recent win over the Spurs, Doncic finished the night with 27 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.
Following the suspension of the NBA schedule, the Mavericks will play a home game against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, February 22nd at American Airlines Center.
Suns guard Devin Booker and forward Kevin Durant will also play in Sunday's All-Star Game.
