For the Glory KC is back with the 72nd episode of the show!
Before we get into football, even though I've tried to keep the podcast primarily away from political territory, I have to talk about the terrible tragedy that occurred this week at Kansas City's Union Station. It shouldn't be political, but somehow it is. I know that sports are an escape for many people, myself included, but we can't just sit back and watch. That's what soccer is all about, but this week is a little different. My co-host and wife, Sheena, is ill, so we have a guest host. We talked about Sporting Kansas City playing their final preseason game and how they came away with a 3-1 victory over Atlanta United on Saturday. Additionally, Peter Vermes quotes Johnny Russell and Tim Leibold's injuries, how they're approaching preseason, and of course all their goals.
From there, we'll preview Sporting KC's season with a quick look back at the offseason. They will then face their opening opponent, the Houston Dynamo.
Not to be missed is the news that PRO referees will go on strike and replacement referees will be used to start the MLS season.
