The NFL Scouting Combine will be held next week as the road to the draft continues.
While fans wait for the Chicago Bears to take the No. 1 overall pick, mock drafts continue to unfold.
NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah released Mock Draft 2.0 this week, having the Dallas Cowboys select Oklahoma offensive tackle Tyler Guyton, a familiar face, with the 24th overall pick.
“With Tyron Smith becoming a free agent, the Cowboys could have 2022 first-rounder Tyler Smith manning one of the tackle spots and Guyton the other.” said Jeremiah.
This isn't the first time Guyton has been linked to the Cowboys in mock drafts this offseason. last month, athletic Dane Brugler also led Oklahoma to Dallas at No. 24.
“I think after the loss to the Packers, Cowboys fans were hoping for a defensive player to emerge here. But Tyron Smith could leave in free agency, and Dallas could sign up for Tyler Smith. If they keep him at left guard, left tackle will jump to the top of the needs list,'' Brugler said in his latest mock draft. “Based on his natural characteristics, Guyton could go much sooner than this.”
Dallas Morning News'' Calvin Watkins also named Guyton, who transferred from TCU to OU in 2022, as a hot candidate in his first Cowboys offseason primer.
Dallas also selected Tyler Smith with the 2022 pick, so Guyton won't be the first offensive lineman taken at No. 24.
This year's draft will be held from April 25th to April 27th at Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza in Detroit.
