The Duchess of Sussex signs with Lemonada Media after her deal with Spotify collapsed last year
Meghan plans to pursue her passion for podcasting at another company after her deal with Spotify collapses in June 2023.
The Duchess of Sussex has signed a deal with Lemonada Media, through which she will release a podcast series, but other details remain under wraps.
The announcement comes alongside the launch of a new website, Sussex.com, which was quietly launched amid the royal health crisis.
Kate, Princess of Wales, is currently recuperating after undergoing “planned abdominal surgery” last month. Furthermore, shortly after undergoing prostate surgery, King Charles was diagnosed with cancer.
In the past, many royal events have clashed with the Sussexes. Whether this was a deliberate move or a coincidence is subject to speculation.
Amid the rift within the royal family, Meghan was warned by PR expert Ashley Rudd about the timing of the podcast's release.
“Meghan will need to be sensitive to strategic timing and regular events that align with the royal family, such as Trooping the Color and birthdays,” Rudd said. Express.co.uk.
“Publishing an episode at a time like this could be seen as an attempt to ignore public opinion, invite negative backlash, bring the podcast into disrepute, and attract unwanted attention.”
