Entries for the 2024 International Women's Podcast Awards open today.
Now in its fourth year, the awards will be held at IET London's Savoy Place on Wednesday 19 June and will be accompanied by a global livestream, bringing together podcasters, audio professionals and podcast enthusiasts to listen to podcasts from around the world. As in previous years, IWPA recognizes extraordinary “moments” of audio brilliance. There are no restrictions on the genre or “type” of podcasts that can participate in each category. As the team likes to say, it doesn't have to be a comedy podcast to create the hilarious moments that make podcasts gold.
This year there are 10 categories to choose from. These include Moments of Factual Clarity, a new category introduced in 2023 following feedback from podcasters around the world. The category of moments of factual clarity is about the clear communication of ideas. If you've been struck by a podcast where experts or subject matter experts talk about their field of interest or expertise, or if you've created a podcast that truly informs your listeners as well as entertains, then If you want to do this in a brilliantly clear and simple way, this is the category to consider.
Last year, the categories “Moments of Compelling Storytelling'' and “Moments of Podcasting Panache in Languages Other than English'' were established with the aim of showcasing work from around the world in multiple languages. Both of these categories were popular and there were some great entries, so the team is looking forward to seeing his 2024 entries submitted.
Entry fees for the 2024 awards remain the same as last year, at £25 per entry for independent and charity works and £60 for works from companies or production companies. However, the IWPA Scholarship Fund is open and anyone from anywhere in the world can enter for free, no questions asked. The Bursary Fund will be supported by Amazon Music and Wondery again in 2024, and the scheme is now in its third year. All you need to do is fill out the short form here.
