Just over a year ago, the search for Anna Walsh, a missing mother of three and real estate mogul in Cohasset, Massachusetts, began after she was allegedly murdered by her husband, Brian Walsh. The revelation sparked widespread curiosity, concern, and ultimately heartbreak.
While the search for Anna took place throughout Greater Boston, from Swampscott to Wareham, another manhunt has surfaced that is at the center of the charges against Brian Walsh.
“How long does it take until body odor starts to smell?”
“What can I do to stop a corpse from decomposing?”
“10 ways to dispose of a dead body if you really need to”
These are some of the Google searches Brian is said to have made on New Year's Day 2023, the morning his wife allegedly disappeared. Prosecutors read these and other questions in court on Jan. 18, when Walsh was charged with murder. The gruesome raid that allegedly produced an iPad belonging to one of the couple's children has brought a whole new level of attention to the case.

More than a year later, Ana's body has not been found. But as Walsh's murder trial approaches, NBC10 Boston takes a deeper look at the case — its twists and turns, the challenges faced by prosecutors in a case without a body, and what happened on that New Year's Day. And what led Brian to murder? As for his own wife, he maintains his innocence.
A new podcast, “The Search for Anna Walsh,” hosted by NBC10 Boston anchors Colton Bradford and Matt Fortin, answers these questions and more from extensive archives and new reporting.
