Sneakerheads rejoice! On March 6th, Kyrie Irving became the first Anta's signature shoes It will be released. According to ESPN's Nick DePaula, Irving's shoe, officially named the KAI 1, features graphics centered around his Native American ancestry.
KAI 1 will be available worldwide at Anta.com for $125.
Following the announcement, many couldn't help but marvel at the superstar's new sneakers.
Uncle Drew signed with the fast-growing Chinese brand last June after exiting Nike in 2022. Prior to their separation, Irving had been running Nike's signature shoe line since 2014.
Now, it looks like a new chapter in basketball footwear is about to begin for the Dallas Mavericks guard, and for you in general. In addition to the signature shoe, Irving was also named Anta's chief creative officer as part of the deal. Other notable pitchers under contract with Anta include Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Gordon Hayward.
Irving's well-designed shoes greatly enhance his abilities on the court. This season, the Mavericks star is averaging 25.7 points, 5.3 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game.
Irving, who co-leads Luka Doncic, is one of the biggest reasons why Dallas currently has a winning record (33-24). The Mavericks have won seven of their last 10 games and are within reach of the 5th, 6th and 7th seeds in the West (the Mavs are currently in 8th place).
Many expect Kyrie Irving to make another great highlight play on Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
