The Dallas Mavericks finally won their East Coast trip, defeating the Toronto Raptors 136-125. After the game, Josh Bowe and I had a long discussion about the contest.
Coming in at the tail end of the back-to-back, it understandably looked ugly for the Mavericks to start the game. Well, most of the Mavericks. PJ Washington started the game with a ton of points needed to keep Dallas alive. Eventually, the rest of the team's offense woke up (though the defense to a lesser extent) and the Mavericks found themselves trailing by one point at the half.

The Mavs played much better on both ends in the second half, and Dallas was able to pull away by the fourth quarter. The final score is not a complete indication of how that part of the game felt.
Dante Exum's return was understandably huge, and Dallas felt more secure in the reserves and on both ends of the floor. Josh and I also raved about Derick Lively II and Daniel Gafford. The Mavericks were without Maxi Kleber, so it was important that both players make a difference.
After finishing the game talk, I revisit the “Last Two Minutes” report from the NBA, and I'm constantly whining about how fake it is. Josh also ranted a little bit about how stupid it was that people who were active on the internet didn't agree with Tim Hardaway's call to Kylie and Kylie went off the field. It was a fun show. I hope you like it.
