The Dallas Mavericks (34-26) will face the Philadelphia 76ers (34-25) in an ABC matinee game starting at noon. The Mavericks return home after a four-game road trip in which they lost three of four games. The Sixers, without Joel Embiid, have won just five of their past 17 games. Both teams are looking for something as the regular season draws to a close. Here's what you need to know:
- Who: Dallas Mavericks vs Philadelphia 76ers
- what: Home game after a long road trip
- where: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
- when: 12:00 Afternoon CST
- how: ABC
As of this writing, the Dallas Mavericks have confirmed that the injury report is OK. The 76ers, on the other hand, look a lot like the Mavericks in January. There are a number of other injuries besides Joel Embiid's torn meniscus. Rober Covington will be out, as will De'Anthony Melton. Cam Payne, Kelly Oubre and KJ Martin are all listed as questionable. If any of them miss time, things could look bleak for the Sixers from the get-go.
Dallas needs this win. The Western Conference play-in race is fierce, and Dallas will fall further behind if it doesn't get this win. It's infuriating to think that Dallas is on a seven-game winning streak and in eighth place. If you need more game preparation, a long preview has been available since yesterday. There is also a betting post, but placing your bets can be a bit delayed.
There will be at least two regular posts after the game, so let's see what else we can do. Thank you for joining us on Mavs Moneyball. Go Mavs.
