Less than two weeks later, fans at Globe Life Field belted out lyrics to the Creed song “Higher” as the Jumbotron broadcast cut to show four men wearing Texas Rangers jerseys. It was. It was a band.
Creed has a moment. In July, the band announced a reunion for two cruise festivals in 2024. They are currently embarking on their first North American tour in over 10 years.
Creed will play at Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas on September 11, 2024 on the Summer '99 Tour. The show will include his 3 Doors Down and Finger Eleven as special guests.
Tickets will go on sale on the band's website from 10am on November 3rd. Pre-sale will start from 10am on October 31st
Other stops in Texas include The Woodlands and San Antonio.
The band is not just for the fans, but has become part of the Rangers' unofficial soundtrack. Rangers pitcher Andrew Heaney said the team often yells “Higher” in the clubhouse before games. Heaney even credited Creed as the reason the Rangers turned their season around and had success in the playoffs.
“Why can't we accept this city that has accepted us?” frontman Scott Stapp said at a game earlier this month. “We are fans of everyone who supports us.”
Creed, founded in Tallahassee, Florida in 1994, signaled the end of their hiatus by selling out two music festivals on cruise ships earlier this year. Summer '99 cruises will sail from Florida to the Bahamas next year with Creed as the headliner. Stapp is also scheduled to release a solo album in March.
“I feel like my voice is the strongest it's ever been and I'm looking forward to sharing the stage with everyone again,” Stapp said in a statement. signboard. “The fans have made it clear to me that they feel it's long overdue. I want to give them what they deserve. I'm ready to bring it.”
