Records continue to be broken almost every night in the NBA, and this time it comes courtesy of Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic.
The Slovenian currently holds the record for most consecutive 30-point triple-doubles after playing a big role in Dallas' 142-124 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday.
Doncic now has this incredible performance in six consecutive games, which moves him past Russell Westbrook, who previously shared the record with five games apiece.
After finishing the game with 39 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd was in awe of his star player's performance.
“This shows what kind of position he's playing in right now,” Kidd told reporters after the game. “His level is that he can score, he can find teammates and he can rebound the ball at the end to help us defensively.”
The Mavericks will be happy that this performance from “Luka Magic” brought them a win after their recent struggles. It was Dallas' second straight win after defeating the Miami Heat 114-108 on Thursday.
After the game against Miami, Kidd said he was equally excited about Doncic's performance.
“You can't take that young man for granted,” Kidd said, per the Mavericks. “You're looking at something as rare as Picasso. He does something every night.”
