After Applegate was diagnosed, the two were connected by friend Lance Bass. Sigler reflected on her journey with PEOPLE in 2016, 15 years after learning she had MS.
“I wanted to give her the tools that helped me and the things I learned,” Sigler told PEOPLE in a new interview with Applegate this week.
“We haven't stopped talking since then,” Applegate added. “We had each other and that helped us a lot.”
They spent hours on the phone, which eventually evolved into their upcoming podcast, MeSsy, which debuts March 19th. “We talked on the phone for two hours and he laughed and cried and was like, 'This is it.'” “He's helping us. Let's record this. Let's do it,” Applegate said. Said.
The podcast will offer candid, darkly funny discussions about the challenges with MS, Applegate and Sigler shared, adding that this is not just a podcast about MS.
