Investing.com – Japanese stocks fell after the close on Tuesday, with sector losses leading the decline in stocks.
It was down 0.05% at the close of the Tokyo market.
The best performers in the session are: Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TYO:), rose 3.64% or 148.00 points to close at 4,218.00. meanwhile, Daikin Industries, Ltd. (TYO:) Add 3.30% or 665.00 points to end at 20,845.00, Toho Co., Ltd. (TYO:) rose 2.98% or 146.00 points to 5,048.00 in late trading.
The worst performer in the session was Renesas Electronics Corporation (TYO:), down 4.03% or 102.00 points to close at 2,428.00. Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (TYO:) fell 3.45% or 225.00 points to end at 6,297.00. MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings (TYO:) fell 3.45% (271.00 points) to 7,579.00.
On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the number of advancing issues outnumbered the number of declining issues by 2,537 to 1,123, with 210 issues ending unchanged.
The Nikkei 225 options, which measures implied volatility, rose 0.05% to 21.96, hitting a one-month high.
Crude oil for April delivery rose 0.31% (0.24%) to $78.17 per barrel. In other commodity trading, Brent crude oil for May delivery rose 0.36% (0.30) to $82.51 per barrel, while April gold futures fell 0.30% ($6.65) to $2,181.95 per troy ounce. It was traded at
USD/JPY rose 0.34% to 147.44, while EUR/JPY rose 0.44% to 161.25.
Dollar index futures fell 0.03% to 102.43.
