ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Rogers-based family-owned investment firm is developing a brand-new hotel and entertainment facility in the Pinnacle Hills area, adding another major investment to the growing northwest Arkansas city. I am proposing a project.
The new hotel, contracted by Beaty Capital Group Inc., is in the early stages of development. The hotel will have 16 floors and a total of 207 rooms. According to the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce, Rogers is a rapidly growing city.
“There's been a lot of investment and more company announcements recently,” said Steve Cox, senior vice president of economic development for the City of Rogers.
Downtown Rogers business owner Dana Smith said she sees growth potential in Rogers.
“We wanted to be a part of downtown, and we could see downtown growing,” Smith said.
Honeycomb Kitchen Shop opened eight years ago. Smith said Rogers is a city that people are drawn to.
“So we have a lot of people from other parts of Oklahoma, Missouri and even Arkansas who come to downtown Rogers specifically to shop, eat and enjoy coffee,” Smith said.
Smith said he is also working with other businesses around Northwest Arkansas to make their products available for sale at the Honeycomb Kitchen Shop.
“We want to be a source of supply for other businesses because we know how difficult it is to be a small business,” Smith said.
Cox said the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce is working to ensure Rogers maintains its rapid growth rate.
“We are working well with the development community to ensure we have the right type of development, including AMP, Topgolf and the newly opened USL soccer stadium,” Cox said.
Development projects like Beatty Capital Group's hotel appear to be driving growth in Northwest Arkansas. Cox said the current population of northwest Arkansas is the same as the population of Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1994.
