Dwan Drama, Poker Women, Boston Rob & Brantzen (Reality TV)
In the 821st episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway, Mike Holtz, and Kyna Englund come from Level 9 Studios in Las Vegas to discuss the latest poker news, stories, and gossip. This includes the recent drama surrounding Tom “durrrr” Dwan, who recently had his 45-minute detailed conversation with Poker News about the alleged debt levied against him by Peter Jetten and Halla Labos Volgaris. . Suffice it to say, Dwan didn't give a very clear answer. Some say he spit out a word salad in response to most questions, and our crew watched a few clips and gave their thoughts. We also asked Dwan point-blank if he's ever been kidnapped by the Triad, which is some sort of urban legend in the poker world. Mike and Kyna then talk about their respective tournament successes since the last show, talk about women in poker, and how the poker industry sometimes struggles to market to such a large segment of the population. Word about it has spread. From there, we moved on to a discussion about recent poker-related celebrities making their way into the world of reality TV, including Boston Rob Mariano, Branzen Poker, and Athena Jett. Finally, while trying to win his $5,000 by playing online, Crews touches on Kevin's 24/7 streaming of Martin and concludes with his thoughts on the oft-criticized Allen Kessler. Ta. Did you know that the PokerNews Podcast is no longer just audio?
