The Fifth National Climate Assessment is mandated by Congress and is published every four years as the flagship review of research on the current and future impacts of climate change in the United States.
In this episode of the Water for Food podcast, Frances Hayes, DWFI's director of communications and communications, discusses the report's key findings with three co-authors. DWFI faculty fellows Andrea Bache and Tonya Haig co-authored the chapter on the northern Great Plains, which includes Nebraska. His DWFI Water, Climate and Health Director Jesse Bell, who heads the Water, Climate and Health Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, is a co-author of the chapter on human health. The authors share their views on regional differences related to climate change, who is most affected by its impacts, and what bright spots exist.
