Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is the best in the NFL today as he has recorded at least 13 sacks in each of his three NFL seasons and has finished in the top three in Defensive Player of the Year voting each season. He is one of the best defense players.
But despite his accomplishments, some league officials still have doubts about giving Parsons a lucrative long-term contract.
in Yahoo Fantasy Football ShowJori Epstein, a senior NFL reporter for Yahoo and former Dallas Morning News, claimed that an anonymous defensive coach made harsh criticisms of Parsons, especially regarding his performance in key moments.
“When the Cowboys are winning, Micah is a Hall of Famer. When the Cowboys need him the most, he's pretty average (…) Chris Jones misses some plays, but “He makes it when it matters most. Micah isn't 100 percent on every play, but he makes plays when it doesn't matter,” Epstein claims the coach said.
These comments caused a stir on the internet, and it didn't take long for Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs to hear them. Diggs gushed about his star teammate, replying with just two words: “Pathetic coach.”
Parsons has had some quiet games throughout his career, and with just one sack in four career playoff games, he'll definitely be talked about until he makes a splash in the postseason. Still, it would be downright foolish to blame him for the Cowboys' struggles in big games.
Either way, it's great to see Diggs defend his teammates in the face of such criticism.
