With the global expansion of podcasts on YouTube Music, Google Podcasts will be shutting down on April 2nd. The announcement was made in September 2023, but the transition date was only recently announced.
“For 2024, we're increasing our investment in the podcast experience on YouTube Music to make it more holistic for both fans and podcasters with community, discovery, audio/visual toggles, and other YouTube-only features. “As part of this process, we plan to retire Google Podcasts in late 2024,” YouTube said in a blog post at the time.
If you're an avid user of Google Podcasts, it's time to move your data to YouTube Music or other apps. Notably, this is a US-only feature.
