“Full House” alum Dave Coulier shared the heartfelt voicemail his former co-star Bob Saget left him to conclude the latest episode of his “Full House Rewind” podcast.
On his return episode over the weekend, the actor who played Uncle Joey on the classic sitcom featured Saget's widow Kelly Rizzo as a guest and reflected on his marriage to the late comedian Joey, who passed away in January 2022.
“The biggest hugger I ever knew was Bob Saget. He hugged everyone. If you were going through a tough time, Bob was there for you,” Courier said on the podcast. He spoke in the last few minutes. “When his brother Danny took his own life in 2021, Bob was the first person to call me and leave me a voicemail. It was a voice hug.”
“I loved Bob, and he loved me too. I'd like to end this episode by playing the voicemail message Bob left me,” he added. “Maybe someday you too will be able to convey that same compassion to someone you love.”
In the audio clip, a tearful Saget encouraged Courier to reach out whenever she needed him, while also offering support to her co-stars.
“I'm here 24/7 now. I love you, Dave. I'm sorry, Dave. You loved him, I'm so sorry, that's why I'm here,” Saget says. I heard it. “I'm here 24/7. Call me anytime. It doesn't have to be right now, it doesn't have to be in a week. I'm always available to talk to you or listen to you.” I really love.”
Courier also thanked Rizzo for being there for his friend, saying: He wasn't and you were the perfect person for him. ”
“You always had the calmness and composure that suited you to balance Bob's frenetic pace. I may not have said it enough, but it was great to be that presence in your friend's life. Thank you for that, because it was so great to be a part of it and to see my friend so happy, and you gave that to him, so thank you.” he concluded.
