Orlando, Florida – This week on “Black Men Sundays,” host Corey Murray interviews Charles F. Warrington, executive and chief marketing communications officer.
The author of the book “A Seat at the C-Suite Table,” Mr. Warrington's leadership experience in the healthcare, financial services, and consumer goods industries has made him a household name for telling the stories of people like him. I am.
“The topic of this book was the focus of my dissertation research, and I was interested in the journey of black men to executive leadership because I am one of them,” he said. “I always wondered if my experience was an isolated one for me, or if there were other men out there who had gone through the same ups and downs as me. That's what prompted me to do some research. It is.”

In this book, Warrington presents approximately 30 interviews that tell the stories of his subjects, with insight into their success as people of color.
“They worked for different companies. The 18 different companies were located in 12 different states, including the District of Columbia, so they were spread out across the United States. The companies varied in size.” Fortune's Some have worked in corporations, others have been leaders in nonprofit organizations and everything in between, he said. “…They talked about how they survived, right? Again, I don't want to paint the picture that everyone's story was doom and gloom because that wasn't the case. These men… They were very open about what they needed to succeed through their lives and careers, and that their faith, friendships, family, and fraternities were really, really fundamental in providing that support. We recognized it as a group.”
