The Dallas Mavericks (48-30) finished the regular season with three of the final four teams playing. On Tuesday night, they have an early game against the Charlotte Hornets (19-59). The game begins at 6:00 PM CST and will be broadcast on Barry Sports Southwest. The Mavericks held off the Hornets in November, but both teams have changed a lot since then. As everyone knows, Dallas traded forward P.J. Washington to Charlotte, sending Grant Williams and Seth Curry (and a future first-rounder) to the trade. Let's look at the important things.
- Who: Dallas Mavericks vs. Charlotte Hornets
- what: Won the regular season stretch run
- where: spectrum center
- when: 6:00 PM CST
- how: Bally Sports Southwest
The Mavericks' injury report looks pretty clean. Derek Lively isn't out yet. Josh Green has been upgraded to questionable as of this writing (10:45am!). Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving do not appear in the report. That could still change, but this is a good sign that Dallas knows they need to take this game seriously. The Hornets are missing many players. In addition to Seth Curry and Mark Williams, LaMelo Ball is out for the rest of the year.
If you remember last season, the Hornets effectively nailed the Dallas Mavericks for the 2022-23 season. Those losses were terrible. Hopefully Dallas can show up ready to play and finish off a very bad team quickly. That would be great, as Dallas heads to Miami after the game to face the Heat on Wednesday night.
Thank you for joining us at Mavs Moneyball. I wasn't able to cover the Rockets game as much as I wanted to, but today could be a similar situation as we prepare for the playoffs. However, please rest assured that we will guarantee it. Be sure to check out the Pod Maverick YouTube channel after the game. Go Mavs.
