The City of Folsom is on the verge of becoming healthier. I'm proud that my company, LRE & Companies, partnered with American Hospitality Services, Inc. to play a key role in making that happen.
Last month, an announcement was made that a new health care provider would open a facility in Folsom, and Mayor Mike Kozlovsky declared Folsom a growing “medical hub.” The article cited projects from my company, which also houses two large medical facilities: the University of California, Davis, and Dignity Health. A rapidly growing 3,585 acre master planned development.
Since mid-2019, we have been hard at work building the long-awaited South Point development at Folsom Ranch. The facility will also include a veterinary hospital to take care of the medical needs of our furry and feathered family members. In addition, Southpointe will include 72,000 square feet of rental space for medical offices, a Circle K gas station, two drive-thru retail locations, and 14,000 square feet of lifestyle retail. It will bring many new amenities to a community that has transformed in recent years into a destination for software companies in the Sacramento area.
Samsung announced in January that it would build a new Folsom facility for its semiconductor company. His Micron Technology Inc. and Intel Corp., also semiconductor companies, were already well established within the community.
According to World Population Review, this business-friendly city is home to 85,789 people, an increase of 6.24% or 5,040 people over the official U.S. Census population total of 80,749. Between 2010 and 2020, Folsom's population grew 11% from 72,203 people. Median household income is $119,824.
It's easy to see why people flock to Sacramento County's cities. Urban amenities include fine dining, shopping, arts and entertainment. Must-see activities include visiting Folsom Powerhouse State Historical Park, Folsom Historical Museum, Folsom City Zoo Preserve, SeaQuest Folsom, and catching a show at Sutter Street Theater or Harris Center.
Outdoor enthusiasts have a variety of options, from water sports at Lake Natoma to biking along the American River to hiking, horseback riding, and water activities at Folsom Lake State Recreation Area.
Our participation in South Point was intentional. For more than 20 years, LRE & Companies has been learning about different communities, learning what makes them unique, and using input from residents and businesses to identify where the gaps and voids exist in our communities. I've prioritized finding it. LRE & Companies then sets out to introduce the appropriate brands into those markets.
At South Point, residents can attend medical appointments for themselves or their pets with snacks and drinks, then fill up on gas before making the short drive home.
Folsom continues to redefine itself and its needs evolve organically. We at LRE & Companies want to meet these needs with state-of-the-art developments like South Point at Folsom Ranch. We look forward to growing and thriving with Folsom.
