The Dallas Mavericks (49-30) and Miami Heat (44-35) will meet in South Beach on Wednesday to conclude the second night of a back-to-back set. The Mavericks are on a four-game winning streak and have clinched a spot in the playoffs, while the Heat remain in the play-in zone despite defeating the Hawks in overtime on Tuesday. The Mavericks won the first meeting between these teams, 114-108.
Official injury reports won't be available until later in the day, but the status of Luka Doncic, Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro will all be worth monitoring. Given Miami's standings, Doncic and Herro will likely be rested, but Butler could play in the game.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Mavericks are 3.5-point favorites with a total of 214 points. Dallas is -155 on the money line and Miami is +130.
Mavericks vs. Heat, 7:30 p.m. ET
Select ATS: Mavericks -3.5
On the second night of back-to-back sets, Dallas is 10-3, 6-5-1 ATS, and Miami is in the same situation. The Heat are 1-8 ATS this season as a home underdog but 17-17 ATS as an underdog overall. The Mavericks are the road favorites with a league-best 18-4 ATS.
Miami is too unstable to support as an underdog, and the Mavericks still have a chance to get home court advantage in the first round. I think Dallas has performed well enough here, even if Doncic doesn't play to win and cover.
Top/Bottom: Under 214 years old
Both teams tend to go under after consecutive sets. The Mavericks are 6-6-1 over on the second night of back-to-back games, while the Heat are 4-8 over. The road team Dallas is 20 wins, 18 losses, and 1 draw over the over, while home team Miami is 19 wins, 19 losses over the over. It's a low total and we were above this line last time we played, but I think there will be fatigue tonight and some stars could be rested. For now, I like the undershirt.
