There's always drama between the Rangers and the Islanders.
There was a bit of drama Tuesday night when two New York hockey teams faced off at UBS Arena.
The Rangers are fighting to maintain first place in the division and the Eastern Conference. The Islanders are fighting just to earn a playoff spot.
Several questionable hits by the Isles made Rangers manager Peter Laviolette furious in his postgame press conference.
This was a big topic on the new episode of the podcast “Up in the Blue Seats” with former Rangers Brian Boyle and Larry Brooks.

- Perek hit: Was Adam Pelech's attack on Mika Zibanejad intentional? Is it a coincidence? There wasn't much in Boyle that made it seem like it wasn't an accident and was probably a bit of an overreaction.
- Dobson hit: Was Noah Dobson's hit on Vincent Trocheck a penalty miss?
- Rangers Isles: Although the reduced number of games diminished the rivalry, it was a big win for the Isles. Saturday will be an interesting rematch to see if something happens.
- Playoff standings: Still, there are a number of teams the Rangers could play in the first round. An important final week awaits. Who do the Rangers want to avoid?
- In memory of Boyle: Boyle paid a touching tribute to his friends and neighbors, the late Tim and Stacey Wakefield.
