Moyle v. United States – integrated with idaho vs usa This is an Idaho lawsuit challenging EMTALA, the federal law that requires hospitals to do everything possible to stabilize people who walk through the ER doors with a medical emergency. This is the result. In some cases, this requires abortion care, which is intolerable to conservative supporters.
Ahead of next week's oral arguments, we look at what health care looks like for pregnant women facing medical emergencies now, and how this lawsuit threatens to undermine that care in the future. I wanted to know. This week, Dahlia Lithwick speaks with emergency physician Dr. Dara Kass about what EMTALA was created to do, what ER doctors are required to do, and if the state of Idaho wins this lawsuit. talk about what will happen.
