Costco has officially begun the initial construction phase of its first store in Prosper. The new 160,000 square foot location will be located at the northeast intersection of FM 1385 and University Drive.

The projected cost of the project is $17.5 million, according to documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration from March 2023. However, it is important to note that details provided in TDLR filings are typically preliminary and subject to revision.
as local profile As previously reported, the new store will carry a wide selection of products including groceries, electronics, furniture and other items at Costco's famous competitive prices. The store will bring more employment opportunities to Prosper, with an estimated 100 to 300 job openings expected.

But Costco won't be the only grocery retailer coming to the town of Prosper in the near future. In July 2022, HEB purchased 19.78 acres of land at the corner of Frontier Parkway and Dallas North Tollway in Prosper. On April 2, 2024, the retail giant officially broke ground on its Prosper location.
The Prosper store is the sixth to open in Collin County in two years, following store openings in Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen and soon Melissa.
