In the video below, former high school coaches and college support staff members Charlie Williams and Joe Cook discuss Texas' targets on the offensive side of the ball.
WR Jamie French, Jacksonville (Fla.) Chinese: One thing about Jamie's game that earned him a near five-star rating in the On3 industry rankings was his skill with the ball after the catch. He can make people escape into space. Ffrench recently told On3 that Texas is in the top two, along with Ohio State.
WR Marcus Harris, Santa Ana (Calif.), Mater Dei: Harris is known as the first player to schedule an official visit to Texas. His ability to catch the ball away from his body with his powerful hands was outstanding. Huge catch radius. From another perspective, his ability after the catch was outstanding.
Texas is in a great position with Harris.
TE Chiotti Armstrong, Jasper (Texas): Armstrong's size always stands out, but another aspect this weekend was his ability to understand leverage when running routes. Experienced route runners can find a lot of free space in this position.
Texas is in a good position right now, although there are still plenty of spots left for Armstrong.
TE Emmalee Winston, Calhoun (Ga.): The Texas commitment stylistically reminds me of Antonio Gates. He has good body control and soft hands.
