podcast
The strange and wonderful world of bicycle racing is brought directly to your ears and eyes.
This is the first pilot episode of a new podcast we're testing out, the members-only Tangents Podcast.
It's an idea we've been considering for a while, and that journey began last March, when we spent an hour reading through the bizarre and detailed biography of the 2023 Ag2r Citroën team. That wasn't quite right, but we wanted to bring you more of the fun as you attend races firsthand and experience all the weird and wonderful weirdness of the cycling world.
If you like the strange paths you take when you're at the Tour de France or the Classics and you're all in the same room creating a podcast, this is a more focused version of that. This is not normal. Most of the time we're on another continent, but consider it a special treat when you're on the ground and slowly losing your sanity.
In this episode, we talk about Soudal Quick-Step's sponsored Safety Jogger headquarters visit, whether they can be Carhartt, best practices when interviewing mascots at bike races, and what happens when Ian ends the night. Talk about what happened. Beer was 12%, and which group was more exploited: the children tasked with cleaning the cobblestones or the goats in the Arenberg Forest.
The audio-only version is available wherever you normally get the placeholder member version. Interestingly, it is also available in video format. By doing so, we can see in real time that Mr. Caley regrets allowing us to do this, and we also get a visual that helps us understand the different shoes manufactured under the Safety Jogger brand. You can also get support.
Please let us know what you think. I hope you enjoy it.
Not a member? If you've made it this far, you can watch videos as a taster, but if you want to spend your day listening to podcasts, you'll need to become a member. Come on, I know you want to.
