Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke isn't afraid to make a deal on draft day.
Last year, the Jaguars entered the NFL Draft with nine picks, but got away with 13.
Baalke made two trades before acquiring Anton Harrison for a first-round pick in 2023.
The Jaguars have eight picks this year, including the 17th overall pick.
If Baalke finds the player he wants, he could potentially trade him to move up in the draft. If he still has multiple players on his board when No. 17 arrives, he could be traded down.
No one knows what he will do.
But if there's one person who may have a better idea than anyone else, it's Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville. He is the newest guest on “The *State* of Florida Sports Podcast” presented by USA Today Network.
Demetrius has been working on mock drafts for several weeks and is poised to dominate the Jaguars draft coverage with his colleagues at the Times Union.
Here's the breakdown of the Jaguars' draft picks:
- Round 1: No.17
- Round 2: No.48
- Round 3: No.96*
- Round 4: No.114
- Round 4: No. 116 (from New Orleans)
- Round 5: No.153
- Round 6: No.212*
- Round 7: No.236
Note: Asterisk indicates coverage selection.
Many draft experts say the top three needs are a cornerback, wide receiver and defensive lineman.
Let's see if Demetrius agrees.
In addition to this year's draft, we'll also talk about how last year's team's defense was the scapegoat, but we'll also talk about how the offense also failed to light up the world.
And we also talk about the 2024 schedule, including whether this will be the year the Jaguars play on Thanksgiving.
