TM: He loves it, but most of the time, one of our road trips was when we played with most of the team in California, but we're going to combine it with his passion of going to U2 concerts. . We find a U2 concert, fly to it, and plan a baseball game around the same time as the concert. To satisfy his passion, he runs a twofer while also incorporating gaming.
La: And it's like you have both obsessions and you cater to both. I have to say, I don't agree with him about his obsession with U2, but I'm not a huge fan.
Next time, we'll think about what to wear when you want to be loyal to your team but don't want to bother everyone you meet.
When they go to watch their team play, they usually wear their team's shirt, hat, etc. You can watch each team play. what are you wearing?
TM: I'm a Braves loyalist. I have an old Braves hat that he's probably been wearing for over 20 years, but I've had his T-shirt for a while that just has the Major League Baseball logo on it. It's just a batter swinging, the logo has a baseball, and it's red, white, and blue. My shirt had a little heart on it instead of a baseball. It was to show that I was there for the love of the game and the actual organization.
One time I wore a tank top for a few seasons, and the shirt itself was sparkly, and it was a baseball cap, so it had red stitching from a baseball cap, and it was just a white tank. Just wear something that shows your love for the game. If I see a shirt I like while I'm there, I'll go to the store inside and buy it. If I were to go to a Red Sox-Yankees game, I wouldn't wear this because obviously it's going to be a very intense rivalry…
La: You are not on my side.
TM: Yeah, I just play straight baseball. I just like baseball players.
La: neutral. It's like, “I'm neutral. I'm just here to watch.”
TM: Surround your team.
La: Are there any stadiums where you think, “This food actually shows a real insight into the culture of this place” or are actually great?
TM: I think food is a pretty big factor when it comes to stadiums. I look for hot dogs because I guess that's how stadiums are ranked.
La: Wait, I love this. And our social media director, Mercedes Brace, is going to be really into this. She eats hot dogs in every city she goes to and ranks them. You guys should talk.
TM: Yes, that's amazing. Pittsburgh just came out with this, and I think it's a bratwurst with pierogies in it. Texas has barbecue, so be sure to pick it up when you get there. Baltimore, whether it's crab or fish fry or whatever, Old Bay, buy anything you can put on Old Bay, Baltimore wants you there.
