The Jacksonville Jaguars have selected LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. as their top target in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, making him the first wide receiver to be drafted in the first round since 2012.
Going forward, Thomas will play a key role in the Jaguars' offense as they look to build around Trevor Lawrence.
“What we saw on tape and talking to the coaches and people close to Brian, you can understand the comfort level there and his offense, understand his role in that offense and understand his role in that offense. He can run almost any route on the tree,'' Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Friday.
“Last night, I said, we're going to have a few different routes asking him to do that and utilize his skill set. It's going to take time and we're going to have a new system with a new system. It's going to be a learning curve, but I'm very confident. We're going to start rookie minicamp and we're going to do our best to get him up to speed with the rest of the offseason program. is. “
