The 2024 NFL Draft is underway. We will continue to track the Dallas Cowboys.
This is an open thread for draft chat.
cowboys 2024 draft picks:
- Round 1, 24th pick – OT Tyler Guyton (Oklahoma)
- Round 2, pick 56
- Round 3, select 73
- Round 3, select 87
- Round 5, pick 174
- Round 6, pick 216
- Round 7, pick 233
- Round 7, pick 244
A trade from the Cowboys is always a possibility. They already traded down from pick 24 to pick 29 and received pick 73 in return.
A cowboy needs:
OT: Tyron Smith is no longer the Cowboys' left tackle. That's something we haven't said in 10 years. With the All-Pro moving on and no semblance of a successor on the roster, the team needs a replacement unless they can slide Tyler Smith out.
Child: Tyler Biadasz settled with Dan Quinn in Washington, leaving a hole in the middle of the line. Brock Hoffman is next in line, but I'm betting the Cowboys will bring competition.
RB: Rico Doodle will not remain as the top guy on the depth chart after Tony Pollard leaves. Corpses will be added here, but it is unclear how quickly they will attack.
lb: The Cowboys have retired Leighton Vander Esch due to illness. New DC Mike Zimmer prefers bigger, more traditional linebackers. They got Eric Kendricks, but they need more.
DT/DE: The defensive line is thin with the departures of Dorrance Armstrong, Dante Fowler, and Jonathan Hankins in free agency. Need more body.
CB/WR: These two very important positions require constant depth stirring.
