The draft went as expected. The Cowboys added depth to their offensive line by acquiring a potential replacement for Tyron Smith in the first round and adding help to their front seven. This draft may not yield huge immediate benefits for the Cowboys, but they made some strong dice rolls regarding their future starting pitcher. This is an important draft for the Cowboys as the team is in limbo as Jerry Jones decides what he wants to do next with the franchise.
Favorite player: Cooper Beebe, OL, Kansas State (73rd overall)
Beebe has done everything for Kansas State. He alternated between guard and tackle, sometimes even in the same game. He doesn't have the best balance, but he has the athleticism to get to the second level and generally has a good eye in pass protection. Beebe has starter potential and it would be great to find him in the third round.
Least favorite player: Tyler Guyton, Oklahoma State (29th overall)
Guyton has endless upside at offensive tackle, but he's pretty raw as it stands. He may have a lower floor than the other offensive tackles on the board, but the Cowboys had to spend this pick on a tackle. 2024 might not be so good.Guyton can He will be special in this league. You just need a slightly longer leash.
